Half-marathon lead-up, follow-up

Did no long run May 2-3 b/c of open house (trying to sell home). Did yoga class on Monday and was too sore (!) to run Tues. I think on Wed. I jogged to the gym and jogged some on the treadmill and maybe did elliptical...? Can't remember.

Took a short walk on Sat. May 9 and then ran the Pacers Running Festival on May 10! Started morning with tummy trouble and didn't eat much before event -- half a banana and some sunflower butter right 20 min. before. Weather was cool & sunny - very nice to start. I was too far up front at the start of the race and passed NO ONE. First two miles in 17:18 (all downhill). Nine miles in 45:22, I think. Was on pace to beat last year's 2:05:30, but the last two miles were all into the wind and I felt like I was pushing against a wall. Finished in 2:05:57 I think. Had to put head down shortly after finishing for a few seconds but then felt fine. Had nice brunch after (walked up Rosslyn hill happily enough).

A little sore next day but gone by Tues. Later in week had no energy. Didn't really even feel like doing yoga. Jogged around a little with boy in stroller putting up Open House signs on Friday, May 22 -- maybe 2 miles. Ate lots on Monday, May 18 at bday party and felt sugared out. No energy to want to run or do yoga.

Late April - including a race!

The last week in April, I started doing more regular yoga in morning.

Saturday, April 25 -- Just 15 min jog plus some walking. Already warm at 9:15 a.m.!

Sunday, April 26, 2009 -- GW Parkway Classic in 1:31:3something. That's over 6 minutes faster than I ran the Cherry Blossom 10-Miler in 2005 (2.5 months before conceiving). This race day was hot! And a lot in the sun. I was sweating already under 20 min, at 2 miles, before 8:20 a.m.

Monday, April 27 - did something with E -- can't remember where to. prob 2 miles
Tuesday, April 28 - jog E to friend's house (a mile away) - hot, tank top
Wednesday, April 29 - jog E through park. stop to play. Approx 2 miles. hot, tank top
Thursday, April 30 - walked to friend's (one mile), jogged back home, prob 12 min jog (with E)
Friday, May 1 - just walked solo a few min -- bad day, went to bed early. had been very hungry but went to bed w/out dinner and didn't eat right away Sat. - mini-fast (22 hrs)
